OK, so i'm new to the blog game but figured this would be a good one to throw out for my first post. Here is my list of the top ten college coaches. I'm not talking about you need to win one game and you need a coach for that game. I'm talking about building a winning program... the whole bag. Here we go:
10) Frank Beamer - always has a good program, usually a ten win team. Clean program and consistent over the years.
9) Mike Dantone - I like what hes done at Michigan State. I think they are really a program on the rise.
8) Brian Kelly - Hasen't done it yet but I think this guy is LEGIT. Going to turn ND back into a top ten program, which is a real accomplishment considering they have standards for who they let on campus.
7) Lane Kiffen - I hate this guy. And I think hes dirty. But that being said, he has USC as the favorite to win the national championship the first year coming off sanctions. Guy is getting the job done.
6) Bob Stoops - competes for it all year in and year out. Solid recruiter, somehow program is clean. I would want him running my team.
5) Pete Carrol - see Lane Kiffen, except Pete has national championships under his belt. He was smart enough to get out of town and leave Kiffen with the mess too. Job well done.
4) Chip Kelly - Runs a cutting edge program. A real innovator. Guy is going to have Oregon competing for the crystal football for years.
3) Urban Meyer - Dude can coach and dude can win. Four years ago he would be #1 on this list but his health problems and what not take him down a couple notches.
2) Les Miles - THE MAD HATTER. Love this guys swag and the way he rolls. Has the hardware to back it up. team is always a monster
1) Nick Saben - year in and year out dude competes for it all. Half the time he wins it all. Has done it with two programs and just smashed Michigan to start the season. Dude runs the program every other team wants.

Fightin' Irish Football In 2012

So my brother is saying that Notre Dame will be a contender next year. This is an extremely bold statement, especially after watching the abortion of a game they played on Saturday against Stanford. Stanford didn't look that great either by the way. Notre Dame always plays a difficult schedule and gets every teams best. Let's break down their 2012 schedule.
2012 ND Schedule
Sept. 1 | Navy (Dublin, Ireland) - Win
Sept. 8 | PURDUE - Win | |
Sept. 15 | at Michigan State - Loss
Sept. 22 | MICHIGAN - Loss
Sept. 29 | Open Date | |
Oct. 6 | MIAMI (Soldier Field) - Win
Oct. 13 | STANFORD - Win | |
Oct. 20 | BYU - Win | |
Oct. 27 | at Oklahoma - Loss
Nov. 3 | PITTSBURGH - Win | |
Nov. 10 | at Boston College - Win
Nov. 17 | WAKE FOREST - Win
Nov. 24 | at USC - Loss |
There you have it folks 8 wins and 4 losses. It's good enough to be Bowl elidgable, but not in the national championship hunt. The Boston College game could go either way too. They always play ND tough and have the game at home. The Miami game depends on the field. If the field is in good condition and it's a nice day ND is in real trouble. Miami is lightening quick.
I hope Notre Dame does better then this. You have to cheer for a program that has some academic standards. A lot of the guys on the top ten programs can barely read, but they sure can play football.....

Friday College Games
Arkansas
LSU -12 o/u 52
LSU is going to win this game, there's no debating that. What's up for debate is the amount. I can't take LSU to cover 12 so I would stay away from the spreads all together. The easy money here is the o/u. No way these teams are going over 52. Arkansas may score 10 and there's no way LSU is putting up more then 40 against a good Arkansas defense.
Pitt
West Virginia - 6.5 o/u 57
I hammer WV here. Pitt is terrible on the road. It's actually sad to see the Pitt program fall so far, but no one will shed a tear in WV. Pitt ruined a couple championship runs in this game.

Locks Of The Weekend
Get paid and laid!!!!
Nebraska
Michigan -3.5
Michigan isn’t back at full force yet after the Rich Rod mess. They’ll drop this at home.
Penn St
Ohio St -6.5
I would hammer Ohio State. Penn State is going be in shock and get destroyed. They're going to be heckled so hard at OSU. These kids aren’t ready to fight without Joe. They were decent last week when they were at home with the support of senior day. They may lose the rest of their road games this year.
BC
ND -24.4
Take BC, they always play ND well and this spread is too big. ND doesn't want to play them anymore, but can't get out of the contract.

Bye Bye Boise State
Thank God we don't have to listen to the Boise State national championship nonsense again. They can't even win out in the garbage division they play in, how are they going to beat the big boys in the SEC, Big 12 and Big 10? Answer: They wouldn't! If they played in the SEC they'd have 3 losses every year and would be an after thought.
I'm looking for a LSU vs OK St National Championship game if OkState can take Oklahoma. If not Alabama is back in I think.
